Ok so this was by far my favorite hike so far!!!
I was trying to hit hike #20 before I came out of my semi retirement ( Corona stay at home orders kept me out of work, so I called it semi retirement) and headed back to work.
Wanted a nice scenic hike to hit #20 and oh boy what a gem I stumbled upon.
So I found the Mary Mowry to Ken Weber loop trail on Alltrails.
4 mile moderate loop trail in North Smithfield. Browsing the pics on Alltrails I see a waterfall, perfect i say!!!
Start on the trail and I'm immediately in love, pine needle bed trail and pines all around. Nice wide open trails and very very well marked.

We take the white trail to the green trail (Mary Mowry) . The minute we get on the green trail im So excited to see a rocky trail , so far I have 2 of my favorites in 1 hike, pine needle bed and some rocky trail to navigate. Heaven im just in heaven!! Just needed to find that waterfall now!!
Followed the green to the Red Trail ( Ken Weber Trail) And took it.

More pine needle bed forestry looking trail, I'm loving this whole hike already. Half way through the red trail we come to an intersection , either stay in red trail and head to Mercer Lookout and hope the waterfall is that way or turn right onto the other half of the green trail.
We had no idea where the waterfall was and we were sooooo lucky to run into this cool guy who hikes these trails daily and he overheard us babbling about the waterfall.
He told us we would never find it on these trails and to go back down the green trail, take a left them follow sewer pipeline take a sharp left them look for a canopy and take a right and there it would be. I'm thinking of ok I got this, I was already confused after hearing left right left etc.. So we gave it shot, and not an i glad I did.
We head down the green trail, the part we didn't go up because we jumped on the red trail and let me tell you, that rock scrambling on the way down was no joke, but wicked wicked fun , loving this hike so much, I love rocky trails and pine needles forestry ( yes I know I mentioned that before lol ) . I would have gotten a better photo of the rocks we were climbing down but I slipped and tripped 2 times already on the way down and said screw the picture, LOL.

I managed to remember the direction that cool guy gave us and when we found it I was like a little wide eyes kid on Christmas day seeing Santa came.. Heaven!!!
Sat down had lunch by this gem then headed back to the car.
Did 3.75 miles and I'm definitely going back because I want to see Mercer lookout, I heard it's a very nice view from there!!!
Highly highly recommend the wolf hill forest preserve trails!
HAPPY AND SAFE TRAILS ✌
I still can't believe we found that waterfall and by putting a map to memory that the cool guy drew in the dirt. Was a great trail he put us on and coming upon that waterfall my jaw dropped cus we really found it and what a beauty. I'd love to see after a heavy rain. Loved the whole hike and look forward to finishing the other half. Happy hiking to you too!
Looks like you hit a beauty of a trail this time. Love pics of waterfall. Hope you go back and explore the rest of the trails. Happy hiking
