Spruce Acres Trail

Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Spruce Acres Trail is located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island is about 1.5 rated Easy loop trail.

I took advantage of the mild Christmas morning , grabbed Hiker Stu and headed out to this trail. It happened to pop up on AllTrails and I figured what the heck, it'll be quick and easy.

We ended up doing 1.62 miles in 31 minutes, for such a short trail i managed to take more pics than I have in any other trail lol

Anyways, it was a bit chilly as I forgot my gloves and was clutching my iced coffee with a death grip lol , but it started warming up as we we walked.

Very well marked trail , I'm pretty sure this is a brandy new trail. There's a blue, yellow and orange and red trail that all loop around to each other. Can't get lost, and if I'm saying you can't get lost then you absolutely can not get lost, lol.

So the Aquidneck Land Trust purchased Spruce Acres in 2017 saving it from being developed into 20 home lots. I have never been so happy to hear something like this .

It's 22 acres and a former Christmas Tree Farm, which sits on the Portsmouth/Middletown line.

Spruce Acres is a wildlife habitat to a number of birds, mammals, and pollinating insects, which means I'll be a wreck there in the summer, my bee phobia.

I'm dying to go back in the spring and see everything in bloom, there's is also a community garden next to the parking lot that has like 10 garden beds.

Oh yeah they also have the most coolest benches to sit on along the way, they remind me of The Flintstones car..Don t lie now, you see it too now 😜

Definitely recommend this trail if you are looking for a quick most peaceful relaxing time outside for a bit. DO NOT forget your camera, it's very camera worthy.

This was hike 12/100 on my 100 Hike challenge.

This was an awesome find by Rocco Root and on a beautiful Christmas morning. Not kidding about camera worthy every twist and turn had something to catch your eye. Wasn't able to complete a whole section because there was lots of ice and wasn't prepared for that. This is a trail to be seen for all seasons and the best part is how the trail came to be. Happy Trails to you too!
