I started getting back on the trails and in nature late in 2019 , maybe September I think.

With that being said I only have done around 13 trails. So out of them 13 trails I have chosen my top 3 based on the views I came across and trail terrain, but mainly how. the tranquility of the trail made me feel ✌ . It's a ZEN thing 😁

Im going to start off with my favorite, which also happens to be one of the first ones I started off with. the one that got me hooked.

Eagle Pond Loop -

Eagle Pond Loop is in Cotuit, Massachusetts. I found this trail after I found the AllTrails website. Its a 1.5 mile loop trail rated Easy. It features a pond and soft pine paths. There are actually 2 trails in there so you can easily make this longer than 1.5, we made it 2+ miles. Theres benches to sit on so you can just soak up the beauty and fresh air by the pond. I could have stayed there all day. You want a nice relaxing, pine smelling , pond viewing, tranquil hike this is it, and this is what got me totally obsessed with hiking again. The beauty of it just punched me in the face and I realized I want to do this as much as possible. And so my obsession begun lol.

Its short and excellent for all skill levels.

Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge

Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge is in Exeter, RI

WOW!! There is so much to say about this trail. This is a 3+ mile trail if you do all 5 of them in here. It's rated Easy . This was the trail where I started my big idea to make some challenges for myself and hope others play along as well, you can find the challenges at top of page or click here CHALLENGES

I can not express the beauty and amazing scenery and views from the blue trail, my god!!!

It was like I struck the lottery finding this trail, it had a cemetery, bridges, waterfall , small but still a waterfall , a pond with the most amazing reflections ever.

The beginning of the blue trail is just a beautiful walk surrounded by baby pine trees, I'm assuming they are baby pines lol You don't even feel like you are in Rhode Island anymore. I have no words for the beauty of it all. If Eagle Pond didnt get me hooked and obsessed and going on amazon buying all sorts of new gear and backpacks then this surely would have!

Then the trail leads you to the pond where there are just stunning views and reflections there.  And a most amazing foot bridge. We went mid October and smack dab in the middle of fall foliage peak season. It was just amazing. I was having eyegasms left and right, lol

I strongly recommend going there in fall when foliage is peaking. You certainly will not regret it .  I 100% would go back and do that blue trail a million times over.

Lowell Holly Reservation

Lowell Holly Reservation is in Mashpee, Massachusetts

This was a 2.4 mile loop trail rated Easy in Mashpee, Massachusetts.

Definitely take the Orange and Blue trails off the white trail for some amazing views of Mashpee pond and Wakeby pond. It's impossible to get lost in there as the Orange trail loops back onto the white trail. Take the blue trail to get higher up views of Wakeby pond.

I'm notorious for getting lost for a minutes , yet I had no problem in here, didn't get lost not a once lol

There are some hills in there that are nothing major but you can feel the burn and I almost blew my sciatic.

I truly love any trail that leads me to a lake, pond, river anywhere where I can just relax and take in the beauty of it all and forget about your phone and the world for that matter even for just a minute.

The paths are nice and wide and have 2 long boardwalks in there, very nice. A few benches are around the pond in some spots.

Aaaand there were lots of doggies in there to say hi to and pet lol...

All in all this was a great little hike very peaceful and relaxing and recommend it.

Anyways so thats my 3. Like I said I started late in the season so I didnt have much done in 2019.

2020 is going to be a whole new story. I have big plans and longer distance trails I want to do. Im going to hike my own hike and not try to get caught up wanting to do what the big boys are doing, lol

2 trails I want to start section hiking are The New England Trail (NET) and the North South Trail in RI. Id love to to do a 1 night night backpacking trip as well, not saying that going to happen but i sure would like to.

Enjoyed that blog and was good idea to put top 3 which is not easy to decide because there were some great hikes to choose from. Each had different aspects to offer. Very excited to be back into hiking and who knows what 2020 will bring. Best statement ever you stated is hiking how you want to hike and not get caught up with what the big boys are doing. Hiking is an individual personal experience! Happy trails to you too! :)
